Emergency Shelter and Youth Program
Emergency Shelter and Youth Program

The Emergency Shelter and Youth Program is open to runaway and homeless children and youth (ages 10-17). The program is set up to help youth deal with personal issues, such as anger or drug use.  We also make clear the dangers of street living. All of this is done to help direct youth toward positive and productive life paths.

A comprehensive scope of services is provided by the program and range from food and clothing to individual and group counseling, medical referrals, and long-term safety plans. After a participant graduates from the program, our goal is to make sure that the youth exit into safe, long-term housing, whether that is reunification with their parents or another appropriate arrangement.  A six-month aftercare follow-up period is also in place so that staff can stay in touch to provide whatever support the teen might need to stay on track.

The program is completely voluntary and youth typically have an excellent experience in the program due to the goal-oriented, supportive environment. If you or someone you know requires safe shelter, please call one of our hotline numbers above to connect.

Elevated Minds

Youth face an array of dangerous situations including substance use, gang involvement, sexual exploitation - all which can lead to physical and emotional health deterioration.

Elevated Minds, is designed to support youth wellness and substance use prevention for Long Beach Unified School District students in grades 6 through 12. The project targets youth attending middle and high schools and reaches out to local service providers located there. This program provides individualized services that have been shown to interrupt the downward spiral among youth toward crime, suicide and other negative outcomes and redirect them instead towards building safe productive futures.

If interested in our program, please fill out our online Elevated Minds Program Referral Form.
